Law of Damages/Action for Damages
Law of damages addresses disputes over damages arising from wrongful acts or other causes. In general, there are two types of actions for damages, which are action for pecuniary damages and action for nonpecuniary damages:
Action for pecuniary damages, may result from loss of support due to death, or physical injuries like disability and labor loss, or any damages incurred at property values.
Action for nonpecuniary damages, his filed in order to compensate for the pain and suffering of the claimant resulting from a wrongful act or transaction.
Action for pecuniary and nonpecuniary damages, is a type of action that resolves conflicts that result from completely different legal causes, such as breach of contract resulting from law of obligations, physical injury or death as a result of a traffic accident, death as a result of medical malpractice, notice and severance pays resulting from labor law, physical injury or death as a result of occupational accident, or divorce lawsuit.
Attorneys who take actions for damages are colloquially referred to as personal injury lawyers.
